The Montessori method is child-directed and self-paced. Take this approach when designing a Montessori infant room for your child’s unique development. Your goal is to guide, not lead, your infant’s development. Provide them with the appropriate Montessori infant environment and watch your child grow.
An infant, according to Montessori theory, should have the freedom, support, and space to ask questions, investigate their environment, and make connections about the world through play.
As you consider how to create this peaceful environment, ask yourself some questions about each element you want to include, such as: Will this foster a natural opportunity for development? Is this going to help infants learn Montessori? Are these toys going to arouse children’s imaginations and pique their interest?
Your child’s room should be Montessori-compliant. You can learn how to create a Montessori bathroom right here! Your child’s space will change as he or she grows.
Consider the words simple, minimal, and calming. This area should be completely baby-proof. This way, you can give them complete freedom to explore.
As you set up this Montessori space, make sure the toys complement the calm atmosphere you’ve created. Here is a list of some of my favorite Montessori toys. Montessori toys are intended to grow alongside your child. As they grow older, your infant will begin to explore and develop more intricate and imaginative play with the same toys.
Low beds and floor beds are popular among Montessori parents, and are frequently preferred over cribs. Traditionally, a crib was used to keep the infant confined in their bed. As long as your infant’s bedroom is baby proof, a floor bed may be the best option for your Montessori infant care plan.
